About the Competition:

This summer, Try Vegan PDX will be hosting an unforgettable culinary event: Portland’s inaugural Vegan Iron Chef Competition! This event will highlight Portland’s widely-recognized passion for vegan cuisine and the vegan lifestyle, and star its finest vegan culinary masterminds. Three chefs from the vegan community’s favorite establishments will prepare dishes inspired by a top secret ingredient for a live audience, and will include vegan celebrity hosts, music, exhibitor tables, and a small panel of esteemed judges.

Three of Portland’s finest vegan chefs — Wes Hannah, Aaron Adams, & Qausu AsaaseYaa — have been invited to create 3 dishes on site, based on a secret ingredient that will be revealed the afternoon of the event. There will be a select panel of vegan judges, hosts, and live entertainment. There will be only one Vegan Iron Chef.

Want to Get Involved or Volunteer?

We’re looking for additions to our planning committee (promotions, planning, sponsorship, outreach), volunteers for day shifts (kitchen, prep, clean up, set up, tabling, audio/visual, etc.) and anyone with skills/time they’d like to donate! All volunteers receive complimentary admission.
